Nikos Vasilakis was born in Chania-Greece, in August of 1983. In 2001 he moved to Heraklion-Greece to study in the department of Materials Science and Technology of the University of Crete. He fell short of his parents' expectations for a moderate life, since in 2003 he got involved with photography. In 2004, being an active member of the Photography club of the University of Crete (FOPK), he landed a job in 18-Thirty magazine and 18-30 advertising company. Until 2006 he held the position of Photography Director of the department of fashion, glamour and advertisement. On September 2006 he arrived in Athens to study photography. He just graduated (June 2008) with success the Leica Academy and is currently away in the army. He will be fully back in August 2009.
